Second race, second podium position! Klaus Bachler and Martin Ragginger pulled out all the stops at the second race of the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring. The duo scooped third place at the “43rd DMV 4 Hour Race" in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, repeating the great performance of the opening race. Klaus Bachler, who already scaled the podium fourteen days ago with Porsche works driver, Sven Müller, has now repeated this success with Falken driver, Martin Ragginger. The outstanding result was primarily ascribable to a shrewd pit stop strategy. Commencing in starting position 10, the #4 Falken Porsche ploughed its way through the once-more highly competitive field of 26 GT vehicles. After just eight laps, Bachler and Ragginger emerged in reaching distance of a podium finish, and after 27 laps and around 658 kilometres, they completed the race in third place, as the top-performing Porsche. Once again, the Porsche excelled with constant lap times and underscored the flawless performance of the tyres. Sadly, the race didn't go as intended for the #3 Falken BMW M6 GT3. Although the race took place in ideal weather conditions, a large number of incidents occurred in the “Green Hell". Amongst the casualties were Alexander Imperatori and Jens Klingmann who were involved in a minor collision when overtaking, and forced to abandon the race prematurely about an hour before its finish. Enthusiasts don't need to wait long for the follow-up, which already takes place next weekend in the form of the ADAC 24h Qualifying Race. Falken will once more be dispatching two vehicles to the starting line for the dress rehearsal of the ADAC 24h Race (10-13 May 2018).
